Jonathan W. Pinkston
Jonathan Pinkston is a long time blacksmith and a lifetime outdoorsman. His interest in utilitarian blacksmithing, and knife making, sprung out of a desire to repair trapping equipment and make outdoor edge tools. This quickly led him down the rabbit hole of blacksmith tool making. Here, Jonathan found a love for education, while teaching tool making classes. His high school experience in FFA, and his love of teaching, led him to become a high school agriculture and shop teacher. He balances his time between teaching students, chasing critters, and operating Gambrel Knife Company.
Haley Pinkston
Haley Pinkston is a wife, school teacher, and creative wild game cook. She has worn many hats in the creation of Gambrel Knife Company and continues to work in a variety of capacities, though she doesn't have a formal role. In 2024, Haley married into the goal of making Gambrel a reality. She made this goal her own and has worked to make the vision a reality by taking product photos, creating digital logos, and assisting in multiple aspects of the knife-making process. Haley does all of this while working as a High School agriculture teacher and FFA advisor.
Benjamin Allen
Benjamin Allen and Jonathan Pinkston met in preschool, and they have remained the best of friends since. Benjamin works as a professional welder. This skill, and Benjamin's attention to detail, have been crucial in the creation of Gambrel. After the end of a long welding shift, Benjamin works to prepare knives for assembly and takes part in the mountainous process of cataloging product prior to fulfillment. Benjamin has been there with Jonathan since the beginning.
Jon Keen
Jon Keen has been leather working since the age of 10, and currently lives in Texas. His interest in practical leather working and blacksmithing stemmed from his love of the woods. Today, Jon runs his business called Wilderman Outdoors. As a part of this business, he crafts fine forged and leather goods. On his website, you can find a variety of of stock and custom items. Jonathan P. has had a Jon K. knife sheath on his hip everyday since they met. Gambrel Knife Company could not be prouder of this partnership.
