Built for Work.
Built for life
Built for you.
Our tagline acted as a motivation while Jonathan was starting Gambrel Knife Company. The phrase also guides what we do everyday.
Built for work - Represents our customers that choose work in their careers and in their recreation everyday. People that work need tools that work for them. Gambrel's knives and tools are built for work.
Built for life - Simply, put we stand behind our tools for the life of the tool. Our knives are made to stand up to what you put them through in your lifetime and stay relevant to the next generation.
Built for you - The customer is at the center of our work. Jonathan designed the knife that launched Gambrel and only decided to make this knife available when others saw something of value. Each tool is built for those that love the wild things of God's creation. Our company is built for those that believe in American made. Our knives are built for you.
What do we mean Built for You?
A start in the forge
"I started blacksmithing at fourteen and quickly became enamored with the process of making. Learning new techniques and striving for improvement, drove me forward. Throughout high school and college, I forged tools for blacksmiths, knife makers, and farriers. During this time I found work making rounding hammers, forging hammer tongs and teaching classes."
"While managing my forging operations I commonly made knives for myself, friends, and orders that interested me. The knife that would ultimately launch Gambrel, I made as my ideal woods companion"
"The process of making a single item is fascinating. Now I find myself with a similar fascination with the process of designing knives for outdoorsmen and bringing them to market. I love the work I have been doing with Gambrel Knife Company. I look forward to learning, growing and ultimately building a business and knives that will outlive me."
