Jonathan Pinkston
Jonathan Pinkston is a long time blacksmith and a lifetime outdoorsman. His interest in utilitarian blacksmithing and knife making sprung out of a desire to repair trapping equipment and make outdoor edge tools. this quickly led him down the rabbit hole of blacksmith tool making. Here Jonathan found a love for education, while teaching tool making classes. His high school experience in FFA and his love of teaching led him to become a high school agriculture and shop teacher. He balances his time between teaching students and operating gambrel knife company.
Position title
Jonathan is the founder of Gambrel knife company and is responsible for the design and manufacture of Gambrel's premium outdoor tools. He also handles the the majority of all day to day operations. These responsibilities include finishing, packaging and shipping our knives, as well forging Gambrel's line of Axes.
Jonathan grew up in central Kentucky. His younger years were greatly impacted by the outdoor interests of his dad and his mom's aptitude for creative cooking.
